Business English - Private Tuition

Course description:

This course is designed for adults, 18 years old and above, who either plan to work or are already working in the field of business and who wish to improve their business language in a commercial context. Through a range of real business tasks, the focus is on improving understanding, and developing effective communication skills in a professional environment.

You will improve your business English by working on case studies and authentic text, and you will improve on your comprehension in reading and writing in a business context.

The tutors have an excellent professional background in business, with real life experience. They will help you develop your business communication skills to succeed in today's world economy.

English for Business is designed to help the students:

  • Express themselves more clearly in real work situations
  • Confidently participate in meetings
  • Give successful presentations
  • Practice exchanging information on the phone and face-to-face
  • Understand business and commercial messages, expressions and texts
  • Improve writing skill when dealing with emails, reports and letters
  • Extend you business related vocabulary

The course covers:

Meetings:
Setting objectives, giving opinions, agreeing/disagreeing, handling a conflict, managing a meeting, decision-making and participating in discussions.

Negotiating:
Language of negotiation, make suggestion and recommendations, hidden meaning, cultural differences, reaching an agreement, being assertive and utilizing critical thinking.

Making Presentations:
Effective presentation techniques, preparing and delivering a presentation, using audio-visual tools, and feedback.

Using the Telephone:
Telephone language, making arrangements, complaining, conference call practice.

Business Correspondence:
Formal and informal language, emails, letters, reports, data and plans.

Social Skills:
Talk about your life and company, make small talk, talk about your work-life balance, about social plans, about past and future events.

Please note that this programme is open for student with a minimum level of B1.
